Ceramics UK champions these recognised skills and development pathways, helping individuals build careers and supporting employers to develop the talent needed for a thriving UK ceramics sector.
Craft Technician Apprenticeship - Level 3.
Exclusively for the whitewares sector and launched in 2026, the Craft Technician Apprenticeship Programme offers a dedicated pathway for developing the next generation of highly skilled technical professionals.
Designed in collaboration with industry employers, the programme combines practical, hands-on learning with technical knowledge, enabling apprentices to build the specialist skills required across ceramic manufacturing. Employers benefit by bringing new talent into their workplace, while apprentices gain valuable insight, recognised qualifications and long-term career opportunities within the whitegoods industry.
T Level Craft & Design - Level 3.
The Craft and Design T Level equips students with the creative, technical and professional skills needed to build a career in the craft and design sector.
Combining practical learning, industry placements and employer-led projects, students develop skills in research, design development, problem-solving and specialist making techniques. With pathways including ceramics the programme provides a direct route into employment, apprenticeships or higher education within the industry.
