The International Day of Ceramics

From aerospace and green energy to the smartphone in your pocket, ceramics are a critical enabler of modern life. Yet, because these materials perform so reliably in the most extreme environments, they often remain ‘Hidden in Plain Sight.’

Launched by the International Ceramics Federation in 2025, the International Day of Ceramics is a global initiative designed to raise awareness of the essential role ceramics play in everyday life and cutting-edge innovation. The day celebrates the creativity, technology, and expertise of the sector while inspiring future generations.

To mark this occasion, Ceramics UK and AMRICC are hosting a flagship event featuring live demonstrations and exhibitions showcasing the remarkable ways ceramics shape, support, and advance modern life.

Join us on 12th March at The AMRICC Centre, Stone, as part of a national campaign highlighting ceramics as both "Hidden in Plain Sight" and a critical enabler of the UK’s future. We invite members and partners to join this coordinated celebration and help ensure our industry receives the recognition it deserves.

We’ll be shining a spotlight on how these vital materials and components are produced, in the words of the businesses that manufacture them, and right next to equipment that can be used to make them.

Agenda:

  • 10:00 – 10:15 - Welcome and Introductions: Opening remarks by the Ceramics UK and AMRICC teams.

  • 10:15 – 11:15 - Industry Presentations: "Ceramics: Hidden in Plain Sight" Sector spotlights on the sector as a critical enabler.
