PRESS RELEASE: Cautious welcome from Confederation for the Brexit deal
The British Ceramic Confederation has cautiously welcomed the progress on a deal and re-emphasised calls to avoid a no-deal Brexit.Laura Cohen, Chief Executive of the British Ceramic Confederation: "We welcome that a deal has been struck and hope this means that a no deal Brexit can’t happen on 31st October."Our focus now is whether it can obtain support in parliament and what the detail means for our members."Our members need frictionless and tariff free trade, ideally with regulatory alignment with the EU, their largest export market."We have serious concerns about government’s approach here for the future EU relationship, particularly as this deal may now need to be agreed in just 14 months."Notes to editorsThe British Ceramic Confederation is the trade association for the UK ceramic manufacturing industry, representing the common and collective interests of all sectors of the industry.
